Terrance Lee Chaplin Jr. is the founder and president of Hopeful Starts Inc., a donation-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the LGBT community on their journey to recovery. Drawing from his own personal experiences as a member of the LGBT community and an active participant in recovery, Terrance has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in the process of overcoming addiction.

Having personally navigated the intersection of addiction and the complexities of being part of the LGBT community, Terrance is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming environment where individuals can grow, heal, and work toward long-term sobriety. His vision for Hopeful Starts was born out of his desire to provide a safe haven for those seeking recovery and to offer essential support for individuals looking to rebuild their lives.

Although he is new to the nonprofit sector, Terrance has always been driven by a natural inclination to help others. His personal journey and commitment to supporting the LGBT community serve as the foundation for the programs and services Hopeful Starts provides, including a halfway live-in house with a 12-step recovery program, mental health support, and community outreach initiatives.

Terrance’s focus is on promoting personal growth, togetherness, and mental and physical health for those in recovery. He is dedicated to supporting the long-term recovery process for individuals, offering them the resources, skills, and community support needed to rebuild their lives with confidence and purpose.
